Camí de Ronda Coastal Trail
This well-loved coastal trail is a series of historic coastal footpaths along the Costa Brava that offer stunning views of the Mediterranean, with dramatic cliffs, secluded coves and clear waters. The paths offer varied terrain and can be explored all year round, being part of the longer GR92 long-distance trail that runs along the coast.
Great countryside location
Set among the rolling fields of Baix Empordà, Rex offers the quiet charm of rural life while keeping you just minutes from the medieval villages of Ullastret, Peratallada, and Pals. It’s a place where you can sink into stillness, yet step out and be exploring cobbled streets, hidden squares, and timeless Catalan countryside in no time.

Within a short drive (or a ride on Rex’s electric bikes) you’ll find yourself on the Costa Brava’s most beautiful shores, from Platja de Pals to Calella de Palafrugell and Aiguablava. Jardins de Cap Roig
Cap Roig Gardens is a unique setting where nature, art, culture and history converge. Originally built in 1927 around a stone castle in a scenic setting, the garden offer stunning vantage points throughout the extensive grounds.
ELECTRIC BIKE RENTAL
Explore coast and countryside by electric bike
Rex is only a 35 minute cycle from Costa Brava's coastline, and there's no better way to explore the outdoors than by bike and foot. We've partnered with Barcelona's favourite electric bike rental, Panot Mobility, to provide electric bike rental at Rex. Add it to your booking to use for the duration of your stay for just €30 per bike.

About Rex
📍 How do you get to Rex?
You can travel to Rex via car or public transport (bus/train and short taxi ride).
After booking your cabin, you’ll receive an online ‘Welcome Guide’ detailing the exact location of the cabin and directions by car or train and taxi. If you’re travelling by bus or train, we highly recommend booking your connecting taxi in advance, as rural locations don’t tend to have Uber!
📚 What is there to do?
It's your space to relax in any way you like to. We recommend getting your hiking boots on and exploring the local area. Our hosts have lived in the area their whole lives, so have created a detailed welcome guide with recommendations of hikes, restaurants and other hidden spots nearby.

🍽 Is food provided?
We don't currently offer food packages but we're working on it!
All spaces have a well-equipped kitchen including a mini-fridge and gas hob to cook up your fave meals. We include pots, pans, cooking utensils and even chef knives. Plus, loose leaf tea, coffee beans, oil, salt and pepper.
If you’re looking for a night or two away from the stove, there’s restaurants and eateries nearby, as listed in your welcome guide.
🚿 Is there a toilet and hot shower?
Yes! All our cabins have hot showers and an eco-composting toilet in an indoor bathroom. We provide eco-friendly toiletries and luxury towels, too!
🚶 Is it suitable for solo travellers?
Rex is on private land and is lockable from the inside and outside.
Locking your phone away
🔐 Do I have to lock my phone away?
No, the digital detox is entirely self-policed. However, we do massively recommend you unplug for the full duration of your stay to get feel entirely disconnected from your normal day to day. Our lockboxes have a padlock and key, with the key in a sealed envelope, so if you want to unlock it, you can.
📞 What if I need to contact someone?
We provide you with a Nokia so you can reach our cabin support team and contact friends and family if you need to. The number for the Nokia will be shared with you in advance of your stay.
Booking and cancellation
🗓 Can we stay for less than 3 or 4 nights?
All our stays are 3 or 4 nights as this is the minimum time it takes to fully switch off and reap the benefits of nature and time offline. You can read more about 'The 3 Day Effect' here.
💳 What is your cancellation policy?
We know plans can change, so we’ll always do what we can to accommodate booking amendments. If your check-in date is over 28 days away, your stay can be rebooked for a new date or you can request a voucher, or a full refund. If your check-in date is within 14-28 days, you can move your stay to a future date, or request a voucher equal to the payment you have made. Cancellations or amendments are unfortunately not possible if your check-in date is in or within 14 days. All bookings have a 48 hour cooling off period, so if you change your mind you can reschedule your stay or get a full refund. Rescheduled stays are non-refundable.
