About the cabins
βοΈ What's included in the cabins?
We include everything you need for life offline. You'll find a phone lockbox, a shelf full of books, games to play, radio and an Instax camera with a 10 pack of film.
We have a well equipped kitchen to rustle up a feast, a hot shower in the bathroom with super soft towels and toiletries too. You can find a full list of everything included in the cabin here.
πΊ Where are the cabins located?
Our first cabin is located in Santa Maria de Besora which is about 1 hour from Barcelona by car and 2.5 hours by train and taxi.
π§ How remote are the cabins?
Our cabins are off-grid but not miles from civilisation. You'll feel secluded during your stay, but you're still able to venture out to nearby restaurants and shops.
π Are the cabins sustainably built?
Our cabins are powered by nature. They run primarily on solar power and are built with low carbon impact materials. Our cabins are built with the circular economy approach so the building can live many lives! We only include eco-friendly brands in the cabins.
β‘οΈ Is there electricity and hot water?
Hell yeah, our cabins are off-grid but built to be comfortable. All electrical items are powered by solar and you have a hot shower with deliciously smelling shampoo and body wash.
We don't include traditional plug sockets, only USB charging points so you can still charge any devices before checking out.
π½ Do you include food hampers?
At the moment, we're not able to provide food hampers but we're hoping to be able to add this shortly!
Locking your phone away
π Do I actually have to lock my phone away?
We do recommend you lock your phone away to get the most out of your escape, but this is totally self-policed. We provide you with the key in a sealed envelope so if you want to unlock it, you can.
π What if I need to get hold of someone?
All of our cabins have an old-school Nokia (yes, the ones with Snake). So if you need to get in touch with us or loved ones, you can. Plus you can share the Nokia number with friends and family before your escape so they can get in touch with you.
πΊ How will I navigate the local area?
We include a map of the local area and a compass to help navigate. We also include all our favourite (and hidden) spots in your welcome guide.
π How will I feel during my digital detox?
Many of us havenβt switched our phones off for more than a few hours so it might feel a little strange to begin with. It will take about a 24 hours for the mind to settle when you first arrive, then by day 2 and 3 you should feel complete freedom. You will leave the cabin feeling totally relaxed, refreshed and ready to return to the connected world.
Travelling to your cabin
π Can I get to the cabins by public transport?
Yes! You can travel to the cabin via train and a short taxi ride. This takes about 2.5 hours from Barcelona.
π Is there parking?
Yes, every cabin has its own designated parking spot to leave your car. You cannot drive right up to the cabin, but we give you a trolley or wheelbarrow to get your things to the cabin with ease.
β± How long does it take to get to the cabins?
All cabins are 1.5 to 2.5 hours from Barcelona by car or rail.
π How will I find the cabin?
When you book your stay, we will send you a welcome guide with all the details of the cabin location. You will have a GooglePin to the parking/drop-off spot, then simple directions to the cabin itself. It's really easy!
Getting ready for your escape
π What do I need to bring?
We recommend packing light. Our cabins have everything you'd need for a super comfortable stay from all the cooking essentials you'd expect, to super soft towels and very nice smelling toiletries in the bathroom. So, bring some food to rustle up some meals, a good book (although we have plenty in the cabin), and a pair of walking shoes. π Do I need to do anything to prep for my escape?
We make it as easy as possible to do a digital detox and provide you with a guide to help you prep for your stay. If you're travelling by public transport, we strongly advise booking a taxi in advance. We will give you numbers of local taxi companies.
We also recommend prepping to go offline. Set your out of office, let your friends and family know you'll be offline for a few days and prep your phone by switching off notifications.
Check-in and check-out
π° What time is self check-in?
Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 10am.
β° Do you offer early check-in or late check-out?
Not yet, but we will be adding this very soon!
πͺ Do I need to do anything when I check out?
We only ask you leave the cabin in the way you found it. If the cabin is left in an unacceptable condition, we sadly have to charge an extra cleaning fee.
Pets, friends and little ones
πΆ Are your cabins dog-friendly?
Absolutely. Even pups need to switch off from chasing city pigeons. We absolutely love seeing your four-legged friends at our cabins, so much so we actually name our cabins after pups that have come to stay. Just add your dog to your booking at checkout for β¬35. We will also leave a little welcome pack for your pooch, including poop bags, treats a water bowl and towel.
πΌ Can little ones come to the cabins?
We only have one bed in the cabin, so if you're happy to get under the covers together then you're more than welcome to bring little ones. However, please note that the cabin is not in any way βbaby-proofedβ - we have a low level wood burning stove that gets very hot, and a few pointy corners in the cabin!
Cancellation or changing dates
π’ Do you offer free cancellation?
You must contact Unplugged on the details provided in your booking confirmation to cancel or amend your booking.
If your check-in date is 28 or more days away, you can:
- Cancel your stay and receive a full refund
- Move your stay to a new date
- Receive a voucher for the amount paid, to redeem on a future booking
If your check-in date is 14-28 days away, you can:
- Move your stay to a new date (only one date change is allowed per booking)
- Receive a voucher for the amount paid, to redeem on a future booking
If your check-in date is less than 14 days away, we are unfortunately not able to cancel or amend your booking.
If you book a stay within 14 days of check-in, you will have a 48 hour cooling off period, where you can reschedule your stay for free or get a full refund within 48 hours of the time your booking was made.
Please note: refunds may take up to 10 business days to show up in your account, and can only be made to your original payment method.

π Can I change the dates of my stay?
We understand plans can change, so if you need to move your booking you can do this free of charge when you notify us at least 14 days prior to your scheduled date of arrival. Rescheduled stays are non-refundable.
Deposits and payment plans
π³ How much is the deposit?
You can secure your booking with a 25% deposit from as little as β¬90 if your stay is further than 2 weeks in advance.
π° Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! For stays 3 months in advance, you can split the payment into 3 equal payments.
